Joe Shotwell Drums and percussion. Joe has been playing drums and percussion for the last 29 years. Along with his formal training, he has extensive performing and recording experiences ranging from jazz, rock and pop, to experimental music. Playing with groups and traveling all over the Eastern seaboard really proved to be a tremendous learning experience. Upon moving to California in 1987 (from Baltimore)he continued playing with various local groups and working in the studio. In the Spring of 2000, Joe was involved with Eric Idle, as he exploited Monty Python on a national tour, which culminated in New York at the prestigious Carnegie Hall. On this tour he also backed up international artists Art Garfunkel and country legend, Clint Black. Joe has been with the international recording group Incendio for the last six years. In typical fashion, 2003 started with a bang for Incendio as they opened for Jimmy Haslip's group "Jing-Chi" at the NAMM show featuring Robben Ford and Vinnie Colaiuta. The following day Incendio performed at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City Utah, and playing for the ASCAP showcase. They shared the stage with such greats as Carmin Lundi, Daniel Lanois, Emmylou Harris and Johnny Lang. The music never stops with Incendio's latest release titled "Incendio" featuring Latin guitar world fusion at it's best. Incendio's lllumination charted on Billboards "New Age" listing at number 13 for five consecutive weeks in 2002. Joe has also studied tabla with Ron Wagner who is currently playing with Ottmar Liebert and is currently studying with Dana Pandey who is a disciple of the great Zakir Hussain. Joe currently resides in Napa Valley, California with his wife Beverly and their 14 year old Labrador, Kudra.
