I totally agree. Slightly different fo me as I have never been a professional musician, but nonetheless, I’d much rather be respected as a musician and for being on-a-level with those around me. Many years ago the band I was a part of came relatively close to a ‘deal’ and you know what..? it felt very uncomfortable and we bailed. Guess it might have just been me and my love of the grass roots creativity of making music but anyhow fame and fortune has destroyed some immense talent over the years! I’m extremely happy that I can at least compliment my income doing something I love!

I’ve even had people who have been laid-off and lost their homes express there ‘condolences’ that they’ve never seen me on American Idol or ‘Empty-Vee.’ By that definition, I guess Judge Mathis was a failure before his daytime TV gig.

Absolutely.
From everything I know about being famous I’d imagine it would be a nightmare. You got to be a pro musician at a high level of your art – congratulations – and you spend every day on music – something I envy.

Rob….you’re exactly right!! It’s all about being the best we can be at our passion and make a “reasonable” living. PERFECT!!! I’ve seen how fame and fortune have destroyed to many folks. Like you…I feel so blessed to be able to make a living playing music!! “It sure beats workin’!!” LOL….Looking forward to playing w/you one of these days. Until then…keep livin’ the dream!!
