If you’ve listened to any of Pat Metheny’s solo acoustic guitar albums, you’re familiar with the dark, lower-register vibe offered by the baritone guitar.
I decided to spend a part of my Father’s Day exploring a similar tuning to Pat’s. The guitar is tuned in standard intervals but tuned down to Bb with the middle two string tuned up an octave. It’s great as it injects even garden-variety chords with a close-voice mojo that is mesmerizing.
